My newest find.....

Bikram Yoga?

Yogiraj Bikram Choudhury is the founder of the worldwide Yoga College of India. Born in Calcutta in 1946, Bikram began Yoga at the age of four with India's most-renowned physical culturist at that time, Bishnu Ghosh. Ghosh was a celebrated physical culturist and the first to scientifically document Yoga's ability to heal the body and cure chronic physical ailments. Bikram was asked by Ghosh to start several Yoga schools in India. The schools were so successful, that at Bishnu's request, Bikram traveled to Japan and opened two more. He has since brought his curative methods of Yoga therapy around the world.

The above info was copied from the studios website that I go to.. Read more

DRAY GARDNER
"I enthusiastically welcome you to Bikram Yoga and I look forward to witnessing your struggle, advancement, strength, and ultimate transformation. The divine spirit in me acknowledges and connects with the divine spirit in you. Let no one steal your peace."

Namaste.

This is my instructor. I've known this guy since I was 15 1/2. What an inspiring individual. Even before his yoga! I used to work with him at a restaurant. It was my first job. I was a hostess and he was a server. Dray, ready with his beatbox and smooth with his flows, I always thought of him as one creative human being. His yoga instruction is no different. Although it was hot as HELL in that class (average 107 degrees) his rhythm and flow during that 90 minute class took my mind off the pain and heat. My face throbbed and I did have to stop a few times because it was very overwhelming for me..BUT WELL WORTH IT!

For those with a sensitive nose, it might be hard to get over the smell at first. I will admit that I was blown away, but after I was in the room for a couple minutes, I could smell nothing. The more intimate the class the better. Of course. Who doesn't like attention!? One thing about yoga is: its all about you. Your mind, your body. It doesn't matter what car you drive, what clothes you rockin or even about how fierce you are at a smokey eye.

Ya'll know how I feel on inspiration... Bikram yoga paired with Dray will be a big one for sure!!

  3. BTW, THIS IS MY HUSBANDS ACCOUNT

Hi, I am Mary. And I started taking Yoga at my Community College, but since I had a workload of studies, I havent been there and decided to just drop the class.

So since I can't make it anymore I watch videos on Youtube and follow their instructions.

I have never had a single muscle in my life or found something that I could see myself getting better and better at, and actually loving the feeling. I've have also seen more definition in my arms and in my legs.

You should really check out Tara Stiles on youtube. She cuts the chitchat and gets straight to the Yoga, and she has different videos. For example she has some that focus on strength, abs, beginners, balance, etc.
